I want to upgrade my exhaust and pipe (and jet the carb of course) for my 1994 DR125.  I just need a bit more power for my fat-butt.  Any suggestions?

The internet isn't much help.  All searches I have found yield results for the DRZ, but not my older model.  Probable the same anyway, but just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance.

you might check for a dr200 exhaust from about 1986-1988 that might fit with some work ?? same basic engine and same basic frame

Reviving the dead, but whatever.

For a simple exhaust and intake upgrade=
Change main jet to 120
Take the Air box cover off.
Take a 1 1/2" hole saw, and drill into the end of the muffler, until an entire section of pipe comes out- It looks like a reducer from 1 1/2" to about 3/4"-See Pic
Take 4" of 1 1/2" conduit, and weld it into the end of the muffler with about 1 1/2" sticking out.

Gives the bike a much throatier sound, and a little power increase.

FWIW, I put a DR-Z125 head pipe and silencer on the DR125 we had. I can't say if it made any improvements in power, but it was a heck of a lot lighter. The only issue is you must start all the bolts before torquing the rest down (including the header to exhaust port nuts), otherwise you won't get a few to line up.

I just installed a full pro circuit from a klx 125 onto my dr, supposed to fit drz 125's as well.
