Suspension issues... ?'s

Ok so I know I need to respring my stock suspension. What I'm wondering is, do I really need to revalve it as well? Does that help these bikes out that much for a casual yet somewhat agressive rider? I really don't have the funds for this but could do it if it really really really helps. Most people I know just seem to respring for their given weight, only the hardcore weekend racer guys with money do the revalve as well. I'd like that but there are so many other things I also need done.

I've managed to make the stock valving work for me with respringing, oil, nitrogen levels and I race my bike in HS's as well as ride some MX track. It's not perfect by any means but it works but it's all what you can afford.

That said I'm hoping to do the GV change on the forks this winter.

Setting up the suspension is better than any motor work you can do, well excluding the free mods obviously. I revalved my forks and shock myself using motopro for my parts and with help from the owner John. Check out Moto-pro.com they have excellent parts and info.

Well 190 is what I am, if you were there then you would only need to go up one spring rate on the fork. Shock spring you could live with, but since 190 is on the verge of going up a rate you'd probably be best off going up a rate.

On the forks I raised the oil level 30mm to 100mm and I added 10psi of nitrogen to the shock.

Then play around with your clickers. I found I needed to add some rebound to the front and rear, add quite a bit of low and high speed compression to the shock. Fork compression is close to stock because of the high oil level.

Well, I've sucked it up and I've got on order (F&R) springs and gold valve kit for the forks. Getting it installed and setup by a local suspension guy here. Getting excited to see how the bike responds to all this attention I'm giving it.

I was on the fence about respinging and revalving my bike, It was the best $600.00 I have ever spent! Do it, you wont be disappointed!
