wr450f problem starting

Can someone please help me.

I have a 05 wr450f. I have recently done the valve shims & are all

in the spec.

Bike has plenty of compression & spark. I redone valve shims thinking

it would fix my starting problem. It does start but with great difficulty

on the kick start as starter motor is shot. When its running it runs good.

Anyone got any idea of what it could be?
