Is IMS still the only option? Searched and found lots of problems with them. Will the stock rad shrouds not fit back on?

Can you please post a pic of your oversized tank(hopefully in blk) and capacity?

Thanks, Jason.

this may or may not be different than the IMS tank. Although it states 3.56 gal. it looks a lot like the IMS and is only in black. I e-mailed Hall's to find out about it. I'll forward what they tell me. This in in a Husqvarna hard parts catalog mostly for 08 and 09 bikes.

TC/TE/SMR4T
COD. 8000H1303
Serbatoio maggiorato 13,5 L (TC/TXC)
Fuel tank 13,5 L (TC/TXC)
COD. 8000H1304
Serbatoio maggiorato 13,5 L (TE/SMR)
Fuel tank 13,5 L (TE/SMR)

The tank shrouds have to be affixed to the IMS tank by velcro or glue. The lower radiator shroud has to be trimmed a bit. I would not bother with the tank shrouds but I have the clear tank. They look good on the larger IMS tank in black so maybe it's worth gluing them on and maybe ...re-gluing them every so often.

The IMS is the only tank. The one that shows up in the Husky catalogue is a IMS and it' likely a mis-print at 3.56 gallons or 13.5 liters. I called Hall's and that's what Jeff said.

There is an Australian outfit that is looking at doing a large tank but they have not gotten around to it yet and have put it to the end of this year.

Pics of my bike with the tank. Some with the shrouds on and some off.

There is a guy here in Calif who makes Aluim gas tanks for a living He makes just about every tank you see for the flat track racers He also does custon harley tanks He said he would do some Husky tanks no problem but the price would be about 500 dollars .The guys from C&J racing frams use him and his work is really good If i get a new bike for 2010 then i will be having one made

Thanks for the one pic. Its not so bad looking with the shrouds on, id just need to figure a way to keep them on that satisfies me. I know the trees don't care what my bike looks like, but that was one of the reasons i went to the husky- very good looking bike!

Im still hoping to see a black oversized tank!!!

I believe most, if not all problems (seam leakage) were with the white/natural tanks, not black.
My first white tank, bought in fall '07, did leak on an underside seams, my replacement white tank from a new batch late last fall ('08) has been fine to date, and was heavier constructed than previous tank.

From what I'm reading, the 08/09 IMS tank is 3.0gal

Last word was they were still "planning" and it would be the end of the year before they could update their progress...
