Today I read a lot of threads about the "correct" length to cut the throttle stop on a wr450. Unfortunately, I cut mine a couple of weeks ago just a few MM above the threads. In short, the modification made my bike come alive...but could I cause any long-term damage???

take the airbox boot off the back side of the carburater. twist the throttle and see if the needle comes all the way out. if it doesn't than you should be fine.
