I have a 2007 KX250f (motosport race bike) I have it up for sale for $3500 firm, this other guy has 2006 SMR 510 he is interested in trading me (obviously I'm looking to get into Sumo, prolby 75% track 25% street)
I think the bike would be perfect for what I'm looking, basically a race bike with blinkers right? He is asking $4500 for his bike on CL. So 2 questions, is the SMR a good bike for mostly track duty with the occasional urban assualt mission? and queston #2, is it a good deal if I give him my bike plus a few hundred bucks.
His bike has 8k miles on it, which seems like alot for an '06, but that why he has it priced low I think. FBF exhaust and triple clamps etc.. Says he rebuilt the top end 3-4k miles ago. What is the service interval for top end's on these anyways? Probly time for another rebuild I would think. Anything else special to be aware of when I check this bike out? Thanks! :ride:

Well I have an 08 TE I bought new less then 6 months ago and I have over 2K on it already. 8K in 3 or so years, espically on a SM sounds good to me, but did he race it? If I had a Husky SM® I can only imagine every time I was on it I would be peggin' the throttle and lifting the front wheel out of every conner I could. Maybe he was doing the same and didn't race it but rebuilt it anyways. Take it for a ride and see what you think. A Husky is a beautiful bike. :ride:
