All indications are that there will not be a TE610 for 2010, but there will be something new announced in late Oct or Nov that will be a direct replacement. Probably won't see anything on the showroom floors for at least another year is my guess.

If it is true it is crap, I find it hard to believe they(bmw) can spin off a good 600cc ds bike they have tried and it just ends up too street.

I heard they had a bunch of 600 cc engines on display at the owner's meeting in Vegas and that there was talk that one of them would power the new 600 TE or SMR or both.

Not necessarily, rumor has it that Husky had been working on a 650 twin cam that was slated to replace the ageing 610 but with the BMW buyout that project got shelfed. Perhaps with the new influx of BMW money they can dust that project off and get it done in a timely fashion. I just hope that whatever they do doesn't end up loseing any of the great traits and versatility of the 610.

Would love to see a 650 V twin like the aprilia 550's but with Husky reliability-this would be a perfect solution for real 50/50 dual sporting. The big BMW's and KTM twins are too big and a huge single is a tad vibbey for me. I would buy one tomorrow and ride off into the sunsetMake my wife happy too no doubt.

Where do you think the concept and designs for the Aprilia came from? Almost all of the engineers and designers of the Ape Vtwin 450/550 were from Husky.

We'll see some kind of DOHC big thumper from them some day, my confidence that this will be in a timely fashion is a whole nother deal.

Was at Up-tite today and he has three in stock 09 TE610. I don't think they are spoken for either. Great DS bikes, but you all know that.

I wouldn't worry, I think there's enough TE610s and SM610s in the pipeline to satisfy everyone that wants one.

Ha ha, fair enough... total newbie here, on this site anyways.

Here's my concern and why I ask... I have a 2006 KLR650 and 2008 FZ1, both of which I love. KLR is great for florida and the FZ1 is great for the mountains. But now I am wondering if the TE610 is the perfect bike for both...assuming I also buy the SM forks, wheels, tires, brakes...which I can bring with me to the mountains... so I can get a better dual sport and even better SM riding in the same trip.

Now, do I wait for the "rumored" 2010 TE630 DOHC? I was looking at the Aprilia too... but it has a much shorter range than the TE610. So BMW Atlanta, that why I ask... Can you tell anything at all about the 2010 TE630, because if it has a bigger tank and a twin, with easy conversion then I will put a deposit down! ;-)
