Recently move to Las Vegas and waiting for the 2010 Husqvarnas to arrive. However, here in Las Vegas we have only one Husqvarna dealer. Any husqvarna owners have any experience with Sportsmans Cycle Sales? Trying to keep from driving all the way into L.A. or Riverside! Minimum driving 260 miles or 4-5 hours one way!

Holy shit you must love Huskys. 260 miles or 4-5 hours?! Dude my requirement was that it was 45 minutes away at the farthest when I got mine. My dealer is 15 minutes away.

I bought mine from Daryle. He was a straight shooter for me but I had some problems with get a warranty replacement part from them. It was a cheap 8 dollar seal but it was not replaced and got a run around everytime I asked about it.

He shot me an out the door price and the deal went smoothly. He is a old school Husky racer but he seems more interested in selling KTM's.

My opinion....if I had a reason to make a trip to LA I would have bought my Husky from Uptite and proudly drove the bike back there knowing I am helping a good person.

I also stop by BMW of Las Vegas and spoke to Peter Vanderhooft, Dealer Principle. We had a long conversation about the new 2010 Husqvarnas and he also showed me the new shop where all the repairs will be done. He told me he is currently applying for approval from BMW Group to sell Husqvarna motorcycles as well. He also said he was amazed that there where some interest in Husqvarna motorcycles in the area. So he told me If he can get more riders to show interest, it gives him a better chance of getting a quicker approval to sell Husqvarnas.

Note: So, If any of you live or visit the Southern Nevada (Las Vegas) area stop by and holla at him and let him know how we need more Husqvarna support in the area.

BMW Motorcycles of Las Vegas
6675 S Tenaya Way
Las Vegas, NV 89113

Locate on the Northside frontage road of the westbound side of the 215 Fwy between Rainbow & Buffalo Exts. West of the Las Vegas Strip.

No other choice! There is only one Husqvarna dealership here in Vegas. The rest are in L.A./Riverside, Reno NV, Salt Lake City Ut, and Flagstaff & Phoenix AZ. All at least 200 miles away!

As for Husqvarna, yes I’m very dedicated to the brand! Very good bike require very little maintains, tuff as armored tank and fast as the wind!

Sportsman Cycles Sales?

I thought Casey Folks was at the Husqvarna Meeting in Vas Vegas?

Sportsman Cycles Sales is tied into The Best In The Desert Series and was one of the best Husqvarna shops in the west back in the day.

Yes, they're a big KTM supporter, but I also know they also happen to be real good friends with Scott H. if that means anything... So my guess is they would be a good Husqvarna resource.

Good friends or not, Remember BMW Motorrad has the final say so who they want as husqvarna dealers. If you take look at the husqvarna dealers in Europe they are either high volume dealers or they are BMW motorcycle dealers that are now selling husqvarnas!

BMW makes decisions on what improves their bottom line & what gives them a larger market share. Not friendships!

Example: Dave Knight! BMW wanted to do things their way! David Knight didn't like it, he took a walk and now racing a Kawasaki and BMW is still winning races!

It is a matter of time before all BWM dealers will be selling Husqvarna motorcycles! It is already happen in Europe and other parts of the world!

I'm sorry if I miss read your original question.

Are you asking us has anyone had experience with Sportsman's Cycle?

Or are you trying to create awareness for another Las Vegas area Dealership?

I was just answering what I know about Sportsman's Cycle and Casey Folks.

The Folk's name is legendary in the sport of Desert racing and Rally events. His families Sportsman's Cycle also has a great reputation supporting the products they sell as well as the sport by promoting off-road events and organized off-road tours of the Nevada desert.

I know as an off-road enthusiast, when I'm shopping for off-road products, I'm usually more comfortable supporting a dealership that is off-road focused... and one that gives back to the sport.

On BMW dealers becoming Husqvarna Dealers? I think if I was looking for a Supermoto bike for street use then I'd feel comfortable having a BMW dealer as my dealer, but if I was looking for a DIRT BIKE I'd want a shop where it's Dirt focused and I think anyone who is smart will have a real good idea within a minute after they walk through the front door if the shop is a good fit for them.

No, I'm not from the Las Vegas area and I've never been to Sportsman's or, but living here on the East Coast I've only heard good things about Sportsman's Cycle or BMW Motorcycles of Las Vegas.

But again, if I was in the market for a bike in Las Vegas, I'd want one that supports the type of riding I do as well as the sport.

Base on my research of what I've seen and spoke to some other husqvarna owners locally they are more supportive of KTMs then Husqvarnas. the evidence can even seen on their Trac-On ADV Tour and the Best In The Desert websites and their overall marketing. They don't seem to have a lot of interest in promoting Husqvarnas as much as KTMs

Example: Call them about 3-4 months ago asking if they carried the Husky Collection and they said they didn't anything in the way of Husqvarna's sportswear such as shirts, hats, team gear, and etc., Well to make a long story short, I ended up ordering it from a Husqvarna dealership in the UK because they had a larger inventory and had all the sizes. The Euro -vs- the US Dollar is a Killer!!!! They got the items to me within 7 business days which included going through Royal Post, US Customs and the US Post Office!

Good service despite the shipping time & the distance! The guy in the shipping department took the time to email me to say one of the items I ordered was out of stock, and ask if I want him to ship the other items I had ordered that was in stock and he would ship the item that was out of stock as soon as he gets it in! He did just that. It arrived about 4 days after the first shipment. Kudos to Huskysport in the UK! They are a hardcore husqvarna dealership and they promote the brand well. They keep customers informed and sell everything related to husqvarna motorcycles.

They are a number of other good dealers here in the US. In my opinion a good dealer will make it easy possible for new & current customers to do business with them whether they live in the same state or in a different country. Equally promote the brands that their have the exclusive dealership rights to in a certain region of a city or state. It is also very important that the dealer understands the type of riding you do as well as be on top of technology and take advantge of it to better serve their customers. At this point I'm not feeling a high level of brand support from Sportsman Cycles. Currently I'm seeing myself traveling 4-5 hours into California for service work. At least until BMW of Las Vegas gets their inventory of 2010 Husqvarnas. Currently I seem to be finding more brand loyalty and service from the California dealers, as well as other dealers offer parts & accessories online, and the online aftermarket accessories outlets.

Thanks the responds

Well if your gonna be traveling into California for your Husky, Than I'll tell you that I got my 09 Te250 from Tri-County Powersports. They carry Harley's. Husqvarnas and Buell. They had just started carrying Huskies about 2 weeks before I got my bike, and i got my bike 3 weeks ago, but they seem super supportive and ready to carry the Husky brand for a very long time. They sell all the riding gear as well, carry good dirtbike accessories like barkbusters and maintenance equipment, and gave me about $2,000 off my brand new 09 Te250. You could probably get a great deal like that from them on their 09 models. It is located in Thousand Oaks, if you know where that is.

Yes, I do know where Thousands Oaks is located. Born and raised in L.A and Lucerne Valley Ca. AMA D37's Desert Racing territory. I'm going to Santa Barbara from L.A. next month I know I'll be driving through Thousand Oaks if I take the 101/Ventura Fwy. I'll stop and see what he has on the floor. Thanks for the information.

I live in Kingman Az. I have visited sportsman cycles and talked with them a little. They seemed to be Ok but I was dissapointed that they did not have much of any Husky apperial. If you are looking to by a Husky and instead of going to Calif. which I hate. Why don't you try going to Sunburst Motors in Prescott Valley I bought mine there and was very pleased with the way I was treated and I have had it serviced there and they did a great job. It is a much nicer ride to Prescott then it is to Calif.

I love Sportsman, and have bough my last three new bikes from them (KTM and Husaberg). Darryl has allways given me good deals and their mechanic is top notch. I wouldn't hesitate on buying a new Husky from them, or having Steve work on one.

That said, I do buy most of my parts from Motoxotica as Sportsman really seems to stock only KTM parts.

I also have to add that Darryl and Casey are deffinately our greatest advocates at keeping riding areas open to us here in Nevada:worthy: and that alone will keep me going there-Don

Hey thanks

I have been thinking about the AZ dealers, knowning that it is about the same distance as L.A. or maybe less, but going Southeast from Las Vegas. They probably would give me equal or better out the door price on a Husky!

This thread is getting STINKY as in there is something fishy about it!

I just noticed you also posted the same question over at CafeHusky: http://www.cafehusky...read.php?t=4553 and it sounds like you got called on it over there.

Sportsmans Cycles is a great shop. Stop trying to imply like they're not or worse yet, it seems like your trying to promote another dealer at an existing Husqvarna dealers expense.

This thread is BS and should be called for what it is. :foul:

I think Sportsman is better off without you as a customer. I dont think that anyone will be able to satisfy you 100%.

I feel bad for getting suckered into this thread. As stated before this shop is the largest land use advocate that we have in the SW and has a long racing history.

Daryl treated me with me respect. I did get a little peeved over a small warranty claim...but I have gotten over it. It sounds like they may have someone different in there that is running parts so that should be improved.

This thread should be locked.

Wow a guy asks for advice about a husky shop and he gets his a-- handed to him.
And how did asking about a husky shop turn into a land use issue????????????

The person who started this thread on ThumperTalk in the Husqvarna forums also started the exact same thread over on a Husqvarna specific forum on another site.

The author only had 12 or 13 post since registering on both websites and 8 of the post were specific to this thread topic.

The reaction over here was based on what happened over there.
