I for one think Husqvarna builds a GREAT bike. I was recently at the Unadilla MX and saw (in person) some of the vintage Husky's and was really impressed with the quality of the machine!

I also don't like to, nor do I have the funds to upgrade parts needlessly, unless they are broken! If I'm going to fix it though, I'm going to make it better.

That being said, nothing kills me more :foul: than to shop for parts online and find that these "so called" popular aftermarket companies make item for EVERY OTHER BRAND (including Gas Gas and BMW, really BMW???) and not for my beloved HUSKY. It almost seems that they have something againt HUSKY? Just wondering the reason for this.

Will there come a time when you could just order simple items from a number of different vendors??? It's just alittle frustrating!:banghead:

I kinda know how you feel jphusky06 - here in the UK a lot of places only list parts for the "Big Four" and KTM and it drives me mad! It's down to volumes of sales in the main (I have a grey import Kawasaki flat tracker thing and I have to get rear sprockets custom made because there isn't a match in any UK catalog. At least my Husky drive kits are off the shelf!)

I've only been a Husky convert for mebbe three months but I've learned a lot from these forums and as the guys have pointed out there are parts out there and enthusiasts crafting improvements to any weak points in the bike. If you take the time to pore over the (downloadable) genuine Husky parts lists you'll also find that there are a lot of parts interchangeable between models too. In my (2004) parts book Husky are even kind enough to list bearing and seal sizes so that getting cheap but high quality replacements from my local supplier is a snap.

I'd kill to be able to get reasonably priced new plastics for my 450 though! Still, if it was too easy then it would be no fun.

In some cases its a matter of too small of volume,
in some cases its the basic product is so good why would anyone buy our product to toss the stock piece when stock is so good.
Example I do cylinder work and tried to talk a supplier I work with into making valves. They looked at it and raised both objections, small volume and they can not improve on the quality of stock. For the KTM I buy several dozen per month as their stock valves are too soft

Thats good to know on the valves Dave I have a 09 TXC510. I hear you guys on the parts though. I wanted a pipe for my Husky 08 CR125 and without the help for this site and Cafe Husky I don't think I would have found one. As good as these Husky's are I think things will only get better.

I fully agree, that's why I went with Husky in the first place. The quality of the components are top notch! Sometimes you want to customize it, make it your own and it seemed to me the options were very limited. You'll have to forgive me, I came from a Jap bike 2-smoke background, where there was and unlimited option of aftermarket parts, mostly cause stock parts don't make the grade!

hipsterdufus - Thanks for the info. the list has been vastly updated since I checked it last!

If you are looking for somthing for Husky's just ask guys on here! I have found lots of stuff overseas for Husky's and there are people all over the country that make there own stuff here! I am drawing a blank right now but the shop in cali makes some of the best performance parts for husky's! You will also notice that Husky riders tend to be more race oriented. Everyone and there brother has a jap bike or two sitting in the garage that goes out once every two months! Huskys tend to be "ridden" not saying the others can't be but that is why they have such a need of aftermarket parts, when they are raced they need them to stay together!
