Another Triple Clamp Install Question...

How does the steering shaft(& lower bearing) come out of the lower triple clamp? Is it pressed in there? Doesn't want to budge and I don't want to bend it....I thought it might be easier to just buy a new one if it wasn't VERY expnsive but parts fish only lists the entire lower triple clamp and steering shaft as an assembly for like 260 bucks. Forget that....Any help?? Thanks.
