EIBACH fork springs?

People who have replaced there fork springs on a XR650R with EIBACH springs where the replacment springs painted black or were they plain seal color?

The rear spring is painted black - I can't remember the fork springs color but it seems like painting them would not be necessary, or wanted.

Fork springs are natural spring steel, they live in a nice bath of fork oil. My Eibach shock spring is black.

I am a big guy (230 w/o gear) and I went with the .49 fork springs and 12.0 shock spring. Best $200 I spent on the bike yet.
