A 6 paddle on a 450, are you kidding me. Since when has more traction in the sand been overkill? You must not do alot of dune riding.


Since riding with an 8 paddle is more fun than with a 10 paddle...

I can counter that opinion with my opinion: Riding with a 10 paddle is more fun than an 8 paddle. Two can play that game. :thumbsup:

I love my 10 paddle on a CRF450.
Yes climbing dunes I often find I want even more traction especially on the soft side of the dune.

Just wondering. Will that bike stay upright if you stop it on the dunes? Also what tire pressure do you run on that tire?

actually no, a 6 cup paddle tire is all you really need. that looks like over kill :thumbsup:


agreed. a 6 paddle on anything hooks up better than a knobby on dirt. Yoou get to a point where the bike just doesnt have the torque to move it fast enough and it bogs... that tire is way over kill and i'll stick to normal 6 and 8 paddles thank you very much. And personally i like to haul ass over deep whoops and then hit some insane jumps. Because no jumping compares to dune jumping. 150 feet feets like 50 feet:worthy:

Not enough torque.....bogging......never heard of such a thing, you need to get off that 125 and get on a 450. This bike will pull a 5th gear wheelie at the crack of the throttle.

Yes it will stay upright. We run about 7lbs.

i'm sure i do more dune riding then you. and again, i'm not impressed, post some video's of it in action and maybe then will i change my mind. but until then, it looks like overkill and a waste of time and money.

Video of this bike will be posted end of the month, but you can check out my buddies CR500 with the FAT PADDLE set-up.

Pay attention to the traction straight out of the hole and the size of the roosters. Thats something you'll never see from a tall skinny regular paddle tire.

On the upcoming video we'll have a drag race between a bike with the FAT PADDLE conversion and a bike with a regular 10 paddle tire and we can put the traction issue to rest.:thumbsup:

I understand everyone has their own "style" of riding. Personally I would put that set up right next to mud bogging ATV drag racin with a trailor behind it. Then again...that is just my opinion. Sand riding is fun everyone once in a while. But really? Who can't go fast in the sand?

CR250 with an "8" paddle on a real 19 inch dirt bike rim. I think it gets plenty of hook up.

6 paddle tire is not enough for the Oregon dunes. I had one on my 250f and wished I had an 8 paddle. I have never ridden with a 10 paddle, but the 8 works great with my 450.

Well after watching the video, I am less impressed than when I saw the pictures. It does not look like it handles very well and I did not see the back tire come off the ground once. I assume it is because of the riders ability or lack there of, but I saw nothing that made me want to get one. I guess it is cool for those who want to hang out with the quaders and go up and down a dune, but not for the majority of those who ride bikes.

Don't get me wrong, the idea is cool, but not sure it is usefull for most people.
