Organized dual sport rides

How many of you have gone on an organized dual sport ride? Not the individual tours, the group rides are what i am thinking about. What did you think of them? Is it worth it or can you just do it on your own? How are the prices? What do like or dislike about them? What areas have you ridden? Any promoters that you really like? Any you'd stay away from or had a bad experience?
