First time theading for me, got one of those wr250x after riding dirt bikes 34 years. Got a thousand on it now and a little disaponted with power band. More fimilar with rolling the throttle on brought the wheel up with very little body inglish.Got rid of spark arrestor and some airbox mods.Which brings me to my 1st ? that little sensor in the airbox, dose it measure air temp or air flow? I have a FMF box coming for now, pipe will have to wait till next year,(got to feed the kids in this state)ha ha.Anybody out there got any good tunner base line #S for minor mods no pipe. I been reading here for about 4 days now and got some great information, thanks dudes and a gale or so.

The sensor inside the airbox is the Intake Air Temp sensor. There is also a Intake Air Pressure sensor. It is mounted remotely under the tank and gets it's reading through a small hose that connects to the throttle body.

Thank you for the info.

To further clarify... there is no sensor on this bike to measure "air flow". Nothing like a MAF in a automobile. The pressure sensor reading from the throttle bore is not the same as what info a MAF would give the ECU. The systems on these bikes aren't quite as sophisticated as larger engine systems.

The FMF tuner was designed to be used with their pipes (or at least an aftermarket pipe), not the stock exhaust. Hard to say what #'s you should use with the stock pipe. You might want to just stick with the default #'s that come set in the FMF programmer and see how you like it. It may be a little on the rich side for your stock pipe, so you might want to "tone it down" after you play with it for a while. Then you can richen it back up after you get the pipe.
