3x3 mod for Drz400s

Recommended Posts

I am planning on doing the 3x3 mod for my 2000 Drz400s. I bought a FMF Power up jet kit off the world wide web but it says its for a mildly tuned machine using the stock airbox. It comes with main jets .132,.134,.136. If I do the 3x3 mod the airbox is not going to be stock any more right? is this the wrong jet kit for the 3x3 mod? I appreciate your imput

that jet kit is made by dynojet(#3109) i believe and it was only ever marketed as a stage 1.our jetting expert eddie developed the stage 2 for that kit here a while back.

for the stage 2(3x3 airbox mod)you should also get the #25 pilot jet and the kientech s/s socket head float bowl screws.you won't necessarily need to buy extra main jets if using the stock exhaust.this will probably get you close;

3x3 airbox

stock 142.5 main jet

DJ slide spring

DJ needle

clip 4(with all stock spacers)

13mm float level

25 pilot jet

2 1/2-3 turns stock fuel screw

I'll see if i can dig up some pictorial how-to's for ya.

it's complete with all the main jets you'll ever need for the mikuni as well as 2 adjustable needles,a 25 pilot jet,s/s socket head float bowl screws,drill bit and screw for removing the fuel screw plug etc.and great instructions.it's the one most use on the stock mikuni until you go for the upgrade to the 39 fcr-mx carb.

read thru the master 3x3 thread in the drz faq forum at the top of the page to get caught up.there's a ton of excellent reading in there for the new guys.
