with mods on my WR250r that I bought 2 months ago. But just a few questions.

1st? - The fmf power programmer. Can I use it with the stock exhaust system? Will it damage the bike if I use this setup?

2nd? - The fmf powerbomb header. Can I use it with the stock exhaust system as well? and does the header really add any noticeable difference in power and performance?

3rd? - Are there any sites that make and sell custom graphix kits?

thanks, Journeyman

1: Yes you can use the programmer with the stock system.

2: You can use the header but have to make it fit...have fun.

3: The header will give you better low end, but only when combined with the slip-on pipe. Running the header with the stock can is a waste of time and cash because you're fighting an exhaust that is plugged up with emission crap.

As for graphics sites... This guy is AWESOME with graphics. He made mine and it's tough, quality stuff.

do yourself a huge favor and buy the programmer and complete exhaust before any install. the install is super simple but it will be a pain in the ass going piece by piece.

i think it prob took me 2 hours to do my programmer and complete exhaust. this is removing body work and gas tank and prob some motorcycle b.s. talk in between.

thanks for the advice. But are there any exhaust systems out there that don't require repacking every so and so hours?

I can't think of an aftermarket muffler that doesn't use the typical fiberglass-type stuff wrapped around a perferated core to absorb the sound.
The fiberglass will need to be replaced (repacked) sometime down the road, but it's not every other week.
I wouldn't let that be something to put you off because when the time eventually comes, it's not a hard thing to do. :)

Also, if you're looking for more performance from your WR-250R, do the airbox flapper elimination.
For sure. :)

Staintune is about it. It's not cheap, mind you. It's just over $500 and you still have to tack on shipping and crap. That's just for the pipe...not any header.

The Graves exhaust doesn't need to be repacked either IIRC but it's like $1000 :bonk:

Im thinking of doing the Zeta hand guards with blinkers and the Edge tail light kit first. Are these hard to install? Anyone with photos of their installation?

Its a four stroke, as long as you don't allow water in the pipe, you should be able to go a while without repacking, maybe over 5,000 miles, not sure exactly.
