"2 thin coats of copper spray on the headgasket for a good seal"
seems to be the way to go for my bigbore install.

So i went by the automotive shop, explained and walked off with a can of copper spray.

I am doubt however if it is the right product.
This stuff is meant for lubricating and sealing and stays 'wet'.
Its the kind you use for squeling brakes too.

is that the right stuff?

No, it's specifically for dressing gaskets. It sprays like a thin liquid and turns tacky in seconds.

Nope. The correcty stuff is for gaskets. After 24 hours, it is slightly 'tacky'. It sprays on fairly clear.

Can you find the stuff you bought on the web and then post a link?

This is what we use:

Thanks Rhino and Will.

Now i'm sure i bought the wrong stuff.
Sometimes it's quite hard to find the stuff mentioned on TT here in euroland.'

The guy behind the counter said: "Yeah we have the copperspray you need". When i repeated twice that it was for headgasket seal he looked at me like he saw burning water, snapped out of it, and told me: "i'm sure its the right thing". :))

The motorcycle shops here are all industry-controlled, stealerships, and the like. I still have to find a half decent independent small shop.

Eddie! wouldn't you like to start a side bussiness here?

long story short: i'm still learning..

found it.

Googling "permatex 80697" + search locally did the job.
