there are 17,563,601 oil threads on this forum, search.

short answer, 15w or 20w oils.

I'm using 20w-50 motul mineral oil until i get a big bore kit. then after its broken in for a while I'm switching to full synthetic/ester 15w-50 (silkolene?).

/thread.

Since everyone has their own preference in oil, I'm to go on me own as well.

I'm going to go with Costco's brand "Kirkland" Extra Virgin Olive Oil Toscano from Tuscany. I bet no one else is running this fine oil.

I'll give my report on this oil later. :moon: :p

Fie on the search! Sometimes its better to ask :)

I think as long as you use a 15-20W "motorcycle specific" oil, you'll be fine.

Ester based 100% synthetic 15W50 seems to be recommended by TTers, but the chepest I can find will cost me $50 per oil change (@ every 1000 kms that $40 on gas, $50 on oil :bonk: )

I'm just using Kawasaki 10w40 full synthetic for now. Looking for a 15W50 though... :ride:

I prefer freshly squeezed baby lamb oil for forks, and Rachel Rays signature EVOO for my motor. That stuff SMRookie uses is a complete joke, it's for rookies.

Seriously..
Whatever you decide to use go a lil heavier than a 10w40. Your crank will thank you.

Any good 20/50 is cool. I started using Amsoil since I put it in everything normally, including the 4 gal my truck takes...

I got a good deal and signed up as a dealer. I normally sell enought to get my MC oil free...

Your right, thats because most dealer ships truly no nothing of oil, or the individual needs of each of their floor planned units. They only know what everybody else knows and that is all those owners manuals laying around the store for years.
