Hey, I bought a used DRZ400s yesterday and am in the process of cleaning it. Filthy as hell. It has no mods yet. Does anyone know if the stock exhaust can be painted or something? It's dirty and some rust.

The stock exhaust can easily be removed and repainted at any time. Remove it, sand it, then paint it. Be sure you get some of that flat black stove paint. It is 500 degree resistant and can handle the heat. I have done this twice on my exhaust so far. Good luck!:thumbsup:

just painted mine last week with a good rust inhibiting bbq paint, turned out great! make sure to scrub off all the baked on dirt and rust with a wire brush, and sand the whole thing with 400-600 grit sand paper. I thought my header had some rust on it before i cleaned it, but it turned out to be just some baked on dirt
