New 09 coming home!

Recommended Posts

Well, just decided with today's economy, to help stimulate it alittle and buy a new 09 model, besides at $5400 I think I got a smoking deal.

I'm coming off of an 05 crf, with mx-tech suspension.

Couple of queastions here: I'm ordering a drd hour meter for it before I ride it, are the radiator lowering brackets worth the money?

Stock tires junk?

Any quick tricks needed on this before riding (besides tearing it apart and greasing everything).

Thanks for the info, look for some pictures shortly.

Also, rear linkage or clamps, I will probably use factory connection or RG 3 for suspension. :worthy:

At these prices I felt compelled to buy one too, on principle :worthy:

I just finished breaking it in, and except for the hour meter I'm not in a hurry to buy anything else for it. Oh yeah, pre-printed backgrounds, if the Factory Effex website ever comes back up. I'll do a pipe at some point, but I like the power and knowing I can get more so easy is a bonus. I came off an RMZ with Factory Connection suspension. It was very good, this Yamaha is great stock. It'll be hard to improve. The rear tire is a 756, pretty much ideal for here. It is a 120 so if you really hate those or like wasting money you can swap it. The front is a 742- not my fave but not bad either. MXA adds a tooth to the rear. I think they also said the headpipe gets in the way of the radiator lowering kit, but with a DR D pipe you can lower them. It does look like the stock header wouldn't clear.

Anyway, I'm happy with mine as is- nothing begs to be swapped out immediately. Congrats & Enjoy!

congrats and yeah that looks like a smokin deal to me considering i paid $6,800 otd for my 09 Honda 450 in oct

what skill level are you?? and what kind of riding do you do?? the stock Yamaha susp is awesome, unless you are doing woods riding or are blazing fast it should work awesome stock for you. maybe spring change depending on your weight

i would save the money from the revalve and get a Dr. D system for it and uncork that thing

congrats

I am a vet A rider, last time I tried I ended up 8th overall at Lorretta's(2005, 25+). My speed is still with me, just my stamina has left the building (LOL). I have not ridden alot, but just now getting back into it. I know my stock honda needed the revalve badly(along with springs). I'll look at the exhaust, but I kinda like the stock db level, but I'm all for saving some weight and gaining alittle more power.
