Hey Jive......

On the DRZ400, the stage 1 & 2 kits are the same thing for the street models (they really only are a stage 1 no matter what they are called & a stage 2 kit does not exist!!!):worthy:

So it really doesn't matter what it says.........probably only a typing deficiency on the part of the keyboard operator:smirk:

hope this helps!!

Still seem's strange, just copied text below from Dynojet usa, which in turn means that if there is a typo on the uk site there is also one on the usa site. (just seem's strange, that's all)

there is a difference between the stg 1 and 2 kits.the stg 2 kit is ment for the sm model and has a different needle than the stg1 kit.for a s model use the stg 1 kit and get some richer main jets and a 25 pilot jet.the JD kit is a better kit to get

What I've always wanted to know is if the SM and S carbs are the same, why different kits?

How can the stage 1 & 2 kits be the same.

Eddie say's in another post that stage 1 kit jet's are not big enough if you are doing a 3x3 air mod.

I just dont get why dynojet say SM stage 2 & S stage 1 Why do they say 3x3 air mod for SM & not for S WHY! WHY! WHY!:worthy::banana:

....................................................................................................................................................................................................................

I have just found the following in the fact section written by Eddie, do the same jet size's come in the dj kit and jd kit if not what's different and how?

Sample Jetting recommendations (note: these are different for different elevations and different bikes)

SM

- 150 main jet (155mj for full exhaust system)

- 25 pilot jet

- 2nd clip on needle from top

- 2.5 turns out on fuel screw

S

- 140 – 142.mj (bigger for exhaust)

- 25 pilot jet

- 4th position from top

- 2.5 to 3 turns out on fuel screw

Burned’s fuel screw setting method:

it's really quite simple.dynojet never updated the 3109 kit for the stage 2 as it was largely developed by eddie.then several years later the sm came along and a 3110 kit was developed specifically for it to include the stage 2 instructions but it left a lot to be desired when compared to the james dean jds005 jet kit.

What I've always wanted to know is if the SM and S carbs are the same, why different kits?

according to eddie quite a while back the carbs are the same but the sm has a larger main air jet casted into the carb and the jetting is slightly different and that is why a kit was developed specifically for it.but both 3109 and 3110 kits can be made to work with either carb from what i understand.

My understanding is that dynojet stage 1 kit has smaller jet's than stage 2, is that correct?

If it is how can the stage 1 kit be made to work the same as stage 2.

would you have to get bit's from else where.

Also can anyone tell me what the settings are for the S and the SM seperately, for both bikes at sea level with 3X3's cut and full after market exhuast's + K&n with the Dynojet Kit:worthy:
