Do i need to buy a spark arrestor

Do i need to buy a spark arrestor on a stock 01 yz426f.? cause it doest have anything ... or can i solder/weld lil wire mesh on the tip ? just to make it look legit

It depends on where you're riding and how legal you want to be. If you're on public land, yes, you should have a spark arrestor. If you're riding MX on private tracks, no, in most cases you don't need one.

To be legit, you need to have the USFS Approved stamp on your spark arrested muffler. This can be attained by buying a spark arrested slip-on or a spark arrestor end cap sold by companies like pro moto billet at www.promotobillet.com.
