That is fun to look at. Blue looks a bit lighter than current color. Looks like exhaust exits out rear of cylinder and carb (FI?) is in front. Cylinder is angled rearward. All of this fits with rumors and photos of 2010 YZ. If this is the new WR I would be surprised if it was released in 2010 along side the YZ. I would expect them to wait a year.

hahaha. It looks like they've slightly changed the colour and engine angle, and photoshopped the carb out to make it look efi. Too bad about the airbox boot to nowhere :worthy:

It also appears that under full suspension comperession, you might get a nice poke from the kickstand.

I doubt the kickstand is connected to the suspension. Looks like it is still connected to the frame near the left footpeg.

that looks nothing like what the 2010 YZ is supposed to look like - someone thought they were being pretty clever with pshop.

and it doesn't look like this photo.

The cylinder in the Dirt Rider photo is angled back more. I can't remember exactly what the text was...but I think consumers may have to wait if Yamaha judges the economy and demand to be too sickly.

I think they mentioned the WR450 getting the same treatment, but a year after the YZ450 is release with the new backwards-angled cylinder.

Anyone?

I hope you're wrong. It may be fine for a YZ, but the WR needs a real fuel tank. A 1.6 gal tank somewhere under the seat won't cut it for an off road bike. That's my only issue with the new YZ is that coiled exhaust looks like a real space eater.

Just to set the record on the previous photo, look for Photoshop errors. It's a great conceptual image, but not the 2010. I think if you want to see a 2010, imagine the 2009 with BNG. I've actually heard a rumor that Yamaha may not even make 2010 WRs if the economy is still terrible because there are so many leftovers on showroom floors. I'm banking on riding my current bike for at least a couple more years before we get the FI treatment. If you want a decent FI 450 offroad bike, take a look at the new 2010 RMZ450X or whatever it's called.

Thats definitely not real. Full 09 plastics, but oddly placed new motor? Hmmm. Anyway, I am curious about the 2010 rmx450, but I've heard that it comes with a 1.8 gallon tank, and if the rmz450 weighs a full ten pounds more than the yz450, I wonder if the rmx will be 10lbs porkier than the wr.

Yep, looks like no FI for 2010 for our WRs if the YZs aren't getting it. Well that just :ride:

Just because the 250 didnt get FI doesnt mean the 450 wont...in fact there is a pretty good thread over in the 450 forum that indicated the 450 will have FI.

As for the WR and what it will look like, I would be willing to be it looks like this (with BNG (maybe)):
