So I bought a 1971 CT 175 today. It runs, but not well. When you turn it on it will slowly die down so you need to give some gas. When you are driving, if you try to give more than 1/4 throttle, it will not go faster. Some guy who was good with dirt bikes told me that the carb may not be sucking enough fuel. Also, 2 of the 4 bolts that hold the manifold to the cylinder are broken off so the ends are stuck in the cylinder. He said that could also be the problem because it could be sucking air in because there is not a tight seal. Lastly, the cylinder does not look stock. In fact, it have 2 spark plugs and the is only 1 wire. The guy told me that if one goes bad, you switch it to the other. And the plug wire looks like it has been cut off because it has been reattached with electrical tape in about 3 places. So hopefully if I fix these problems, it will run good. If you could please leave some info of what you think. Thanks.
