The power drops off so fast after 6K rpm on the big DR that a rev limiter set higher than the stock 7500/7600 is totally pointless. Shift it sooner to go faster. :worthy:

Hey Rob, when we change the OEM carb to a FCR39, ?what we do with the rev limiter?

Nothing.

At the limiter you've got the same HP as at about 4,500rpm.
At 6,500rpm you've got the same torque as at 3,000rpm.

For max performance, everything points to shifting at about 6,500-7,000rpm.
For trail riding it's more like 5,000-5,500rpm and it'll drop to 4,000-4,500rpm, right in the meat of the torque.

Rob, sorry for my lack of knowledge, the question yesterday about the REV limiter and the carburetor was because I thought that what was in the carb ( the litle switch) was the mentioned rev limiter, but I think that is the throtle position switch. My question is: where is the rev limiter? I look at the diagram and could not locate.

The US spec bikes don't even have that switch.
The rev limiter is in the CDI.

Nothing that the Dyno can detect.
