Rebuilt Wont Run Right

i rebuilt my 400. i got it started today but it will only run with the choke as soon a i take it off it dies. it idles good with the choke but when i give it gas it takes a big breath and dies. its also seems like its heating up real fast. any idea's?

Classic symptom of a clogged pilot jet, sounds like to me.

i thaught i got it all cleaned out but i could be wrong. is there anything else it could be? im pretty sure i got the timing right. would a bad plug do that or would it not start atall?

the hot start circuit may be leaking, this would cause major lean condition which would cause everything you are stating
