I was digging through old cycle world magazines looking for something else and I forgot about this article surrounding the introduction of the ATC's The article is hilarious. I thought the younger crowd would get a kick out of this as well as the older riders. I hate to say it but the 1970 ATC90 with the ballon tires was my first offroad ride.

The title in the contents page reads “Come crash and burn with CYCLE WORLD, as we try a new concept in craziness.”

Ohh... yes, I remember this Honda ATC. When I was a Child, I saw them for the first time in action:shocked: , in 1971 a James Bond movie/Sean Connery: "Diamonds are forever"

haha i have actually ridden one of those several times when i was a kid, and they say motorcycles are dangerous!!! that thing didnt do anything good except splash around in the mud, other than that it was always bouncing over on its top!!:cripple: aaahhh the joys of a 3 wheeler!...at least they got somewhat better in the 80's:smirk:

Those big tires allows them to fiord deep water crossings...they float. We once rode ours across Senators wash near Yuma on the Colorado river. Felt strange being 1/4 mile out in the middle of a lake. Slow but sure, it made it across, and back.
