Triangle is a amplfier & rectangle a resistor I believe.

No.

Symbols of that nature generally designate a type of semiconductor. Your's looks to be a cross between a diode and a CMOS. I'll be able to look it up for you tomorrow while I'm at work as my references are all in my office.

Great than i might find out why my lighting dose not work.

If your lighting is out, and this is a factory part you might want to replace it anyway. It is used a couple other time in your schematic. I'm kinda interested myself in finding out exactly what it is.

An earler poster stated that a triangle usually designates an amplifier, and he is correct, but that would require 3 wires, so I don't think that's it.

BTW what kind of bike is it?

Dont know for sure but I would guess a diode of some kind, or possibly the symbol for a single wire connector. Was also wondering what component #5 is?

I have a sneaking suspision... you may be right on this.

That's what I was thinking. Note that No. 5 in the upper right corner has two of them.

#7 in the pic is the cdi magneto I have not open the motor yet to look at the magneto. I'm thinking that what every that symbol is it will be found in the motor. The bike runs great just no lights.

#5 is the taillight
#1 is headlight
#2 is voltage regulator (new)
#10 is the light switch (new)

Flux capacitor? It's easy to check, just get it up to 88 mph to see if it's good. OK seriously, this kind of electrical system isn't quite my specialty, so I asked my electrical engineer wife what she thought, and she said, quote "I dunno." We broke out a bunch of books we both collected from school, and the best we could come up with is maybe a rectifier. It's not exactly like the standard symbol, but close. The single wire connector theory is good one too.

Usually there's a list of symbols at the beginning of the schematics in the manual.

Can't be a diode, the light wouldn't work.

Single wire connector.
All the other wires have the 'clip-in' type plugs, with the exception of that wire and #5

its an upsidedown triangle and rectangle

Based on the diagram and without having any key....#7 as you said, should be the ignition/lighting coil. The Yellow wire leading from #7 to the "upsidedown triangle and rectangle" should be the power for the lights from the lighting coil. That "upsidedown triangle and rectangle" should be a "bullet style" single connctor just like the two for the tail light.

+3 on single-wire connector. (maybe +4, I lost count...)
The rectangle is the female side, the triangle is the male side.

Its definately a connector, I talked to my computer/electrical engineering teacher (40+ years) and he confirmed it, theres really nothing else it could be.

.....and the male symbol as a triangle is because guys are more stable.

Sorry could not resist. I cannot believe this thread is still going on

I think you're right, it a single wire connection. The symbol for a diode looks like this.
