poor performance 04 ktm 450 mxc

Hey guys I am having problems with my 2004 ktm 450 mxc. I can start my bike as soon as I give it throttle my bike dies it seems to be backfiring before it dies. Does this sound like valve adjust time?

could be water in the carburetor, thats what my 230f does when that happens...id start there...
