Bought my bike last year and it only had 7 hours or so on it and you could tell, iv riden it quite a bit from the end of summer last year until now(not including winter) I got EVERYTHING on it powdercoated and put the bike back together myself. Ive riden it for probably a good 5 months probably around 30 hours so far. and yesterday it just bogged out and wont start at all anymore and after a couple kicks this morning it a shootin flames out the silencer!!!!!!! ive cleaned the carb, filter, checked antifreeze, drained the old tranny oil, plug, checked the plug wire and cap, fuel is going thru the carb and there is spark to the plug what else!É would my rc valve or reeds make it not start...oh and i also check if the gas is god and it is. could my top end be gone.

Yes it could.

How did you check if your gas is good if your bike won't run? :excuseme:
Gas (ok), spark (ok), air (prolly ok), compression, timing. It has to be one of these 5 things. Not to say that the a/f ratio is correct, just kinda hinting at eliminating comp. and timing, and then going back to "gas" and "air".

i ment that the gas is good and flamamble cause i lit some up to check if there was water or something in it, so would comrpession make it not start ecause i hold my finger over the plug hole and it blows/sucks my finger. im going to do a compression test right now...

Unfortunately, that doesn't mean anything. Today's crap gas goes bad fast. Put some fresh gas in the bike and see what happens. 50psi of compression feels like 120 because you can't hold your thumb hard enough on the hole to keep it from leaking. Best to use the gauge. A leakdown test is better still, if you have the air and gauges, because you can also check for a blown head gasket (although I doubt that's the problem because of your symptoms).

Good luck with this, and keep posting. Something will bring you to that "aha!" moment. :ride:

Thanks for your help man! i pulled my top end off and my piston had a pretty good scar on er, and on one spot my rings were seized to the piston, allowing no compression, the test got 4:1 when i should have got by the book, 8.7:1 Thanks for your help!!

Heheh, that's obviously "gone". ;)
Glad to help. Post a pic; I'm sure folks would like to see it. Not everyone's done a top end themselves.
