I'm 14 and have been riding since I was 5. I have a 250 xc-f and I've only raced twice before and that was on my crf100f against 85s. I lost pretty badly but i was just as fast as them in the corners and i usually got in the middle out of the starts. I'm going to race my 250 soon and don't know what class to go in.
What class should I race in?

Whatever the beginner class in your area is. It would be the D class or C class depending on where you are. If you are not sure what class to go in, always go in the lowest class possible to see where you stand.

I agree big time with that, before I started racing, yeah not gonna lie I thought I was pretty good. Then I got wasted in C... It's been a humbling experience.

Why is it that people from everywhere refer to the D class as suicide? Is it really that bad? Im planning to start racing soon, and i know for a fact that im not C class, but D i hear its suicide to race in them. WHY?? Is it the inexperienced riders that are the hazard? Or what is the "danger" factor? Im aware that in all classes there is a danger factor but why is the D class so bad?

Like said above start as low as possible and go from there! There are so many sandbaggers just wanting a 10.00 trophy in C class around here! Then there are the "legal" c riders that are trying to go to lorettas. You could ride school boy, youth,D,C,age class here allows 15-16 yr olds to ride 250's(this is not really a legal class)The D class can get a lot of 1st timers but it would let you see where you stand! The d class here restricts jumps so be aware of that.My youngest son rides 12-13,school boy, super mini. The biggest thing is have fun!!Get all the safety gear you can and HAVE FUN!!

Hitting the jumps will depend on your local area. Some D class events will not allow them to do any doubles, but you can still jump any single.
In your case, you should still stick with either D or C, what ever beginner class you track offers. After a year of finishes in the top ten (this year or 5 years down the road), then it's time to move up.

its because of the inexperienced riders, they can do alot of dumb things cause they have so little experience, like jump on top of you, slid into you, slam into you out of the gate..ext..ect..been there done that
