I bought a used set of flex bars to put on my 2005 KTM 250 EXC. The bars have the special pieces to attach hand guards, and the inside of the bar ends are threaded.....

The hand guards I want to use are attached to my stock bars with a clamp around the bar towards the inside and a insert that as you tighten, jams up inside the bar. Can I use these on the flex bars?

Also what color bushings are the softest ones? I didn't get instructions with the bars.

Thanks in advance

I am using the wedge pieces at the end of the bars on mine and have no problems. I have Bonz bar mounts for the opposite end of the hand guards.

You can't use the traditional clamp around the bars for the hand guards, they will not allow the bars to flex. The flex mounts you have probably look like this http://www.brpmoto.c...products_id=457 and should be used. Fasst now makes there own as well. As for the threaded ends I much prefer them to the the jam type set up. This is what I have used for a while in my current Fasst bars and previous Pro Tapers. http://www.brpmoto.c...products_id=422 http://www.brpmoto.c...roducts_id=1571 They work very well and will provide a solid set up. Check the bars and see if the inserts are installed. If not the PO may have threaded the bars for the inserts then took them out for his new bars.

Yes, these bars have threaded insides, the PO must have kept the insert to use on his other bike.... Was wondering if my jam style insert would still work in there.

Also the bars came with the hand guard mounts on the inner portion, as sold by Fast.... Just didn't know if my current aluminum guards will work with these. I will go out and mess with it in a while and see how it looks.
