I'm trying to load some .gpx routes that show properlly in mapsource, when on the unit the routes only show "as crow flies" route. I've made sure everything is updated, but when sending to gps the route gets recalculated somehow and only shows straight lines between waypoints. I'm using topo on the mapsource and E-trex unit, do I need regular highway nav software to make the routing work correctly. Anyone know what I'm missing?
E-trex vista hcx/mapsource help

Don't quote me on this, but I thought topo didn't autoroute? You might need the CityNavigator maps.

If you're trying to route by roads you have to buy City Navigator NT. Topo won't do it.

The others are correct Topo won't auto route nor follow roads ect... its the limitation of that model of GPS (I have the same)

It's actually a limitation of the mapset, not the GPS. That GPS is capable of auto-routing on roads with City Navigator.
