I need to add a spark arrestor to my 09 300 XCW. I prefer it to be quiet and not too expensive.

Which SA should I consider for my 300 and why?
-Q Stealth $150
-KTM Hard parts $100
-"hockey stick" ebay$50
-other________________

Thanks

FMF Turbinecore

A friend of mine runs this silencer and likes it. It will fit and it's cheap.

Another freind runs the Q Stealth and is very happy with it. Personally, I have a hockey stick for when I need an SA, but I don't really like the looks.

There really is nothing wrong with any of the ones you have listed or the FMF I linked.

I use the stocker and switch to the SA hockey stick if needed.

I am also interested in purchasing a SA for my 09. Can someone explain what a "hockey stick" is and why you would bother going back and forth from a stock pipe to the SA.

thx

I have the KTM hardparts/fmf silencer and like it. Word has it that its just a fancy FMF Turbinecore silencer.

When I helped run Sound test at a local event several years ago they mentioned that a Turbine core silencer is the only one they dont bother testing. They all pass the 94db limit.

I bought the KTM Hardparts one, made by FMF, nice and quiet, and a sweet fit. Super clean looking on the bike. I think its a FMF Turbine Core II made for KTM

It's just a Turbine Core II painted black with a KTM sticker.

its anodized, but ya same thing, great muffler IMO, light , looks good, quiet, and performs great, the old hockey stick is heavy, ugly, tends to drip right on the brake rotor, and is prone to damage.

Thanks for the correction, I will edit my reply. I did remove my large stickers that was on each side. It had a nice little stamped in KTM logo on the outlet tip.

Any Jetting issues with the KTM Hardpart FMF SA?

I just bought a used one for $50.

shouldn't be anything drastic.

FYI, it's the same silencer as the one I linked, but a different color. KTM hasn't changed the mounting points for many years, and silencers will cross from 200-300's. DoctorDover is running the one I linked on an 06 200. I started to order it myself.
