WR400 and WR426 - Clutch Differences / Rekluse ?

Recommended Posts

I have recently purchased a second hand Z-Start Rekluse clutch.

It is stated as being for a WR426 00-03 model.

However I have a 1999 WR400 !

1) If there a difference between the 99WR400 and the 00WR426 clutch wise?

2) Will the rekluse fit my bike ?

3) If not, then who wants to buy a cheap rekluse clutch for a WR426 :excuseme:

Thanks in advance,

Silky

How much do u want for the rekluse?

$70 plus the postage ? that will cover what I paid ... not looking to make profit.

Caveat: thats unless it fits my bike ... then I am keeping it

oh! it comes with an external adjuster too !

I was looking at a 426 rekluse for my '98 400. I called rekluse and they were very helpful. Unfortunately they told me that it would not fit.

I don't remember exactly what they told me, but I'm pretty sure they said that the clutch in the '98 was different than the later years. Don't knwo if this applys to your '99. I would call and ask.

I called rekluse and, suprise suprise, I have bought the wrong one :snore:

Going to double check at the weekend - just in case my bike has some wierd post 99 engine or something ... ie: my rear wheel does not fit 99 sprockets... but has the fittings for an 01 bike ?

But its looking 99% likely that it wont fit.

So! who is interested in buying it from me at the price above ?

If I dont hear by start of next week, I will just chuck it on ebay.

It won't work for me, but if you can find another rekluse the fits a '98 400 for $70 let me know. I have been looking for a long time.

I've got myself into a sticky situation. My wr400 is set up perfect with MCR suspension, guards and plates, new tires, etc... so any new bike will need to be done again so anything I buy needs to be already done or add $1000. Neither seems to work for me.

FAO the person that has been PM'ing me (from USA I think):

Right ... finally got round to taking some pictures (been busy riding the bike  ).

(also confirmed it wont fit my WR  )

So here are the pics:

The main part has been assembled already by previous owner.

Comes with a printed manual on how to assemble and adjust etc.

Part number is: RMS 173

Cost including insured and signed for postage to USA is: $105

well i wrote him a pm last week as well

never heard from him

and he says a guy from the states and your from romania ?

I take it by 'him' you mean me ?

I thought I had replied to all the emails I got ... apologies if I didnt.

But the first guy to show interest and say he would pay was the guy from USA... since then I have received lots of emails , and all from different parts of the world ... but if the USA guy wants it then he should get it I guess.

Amazing what happens when you try to do the decent thing and sell it on for non profit .... wish I had ebayed the bloody thing now and earnt myself some money :-)

Yep, I understand you, but for some of us, mostly from foreign countries as you said, it's pretty hard (meaning very expensive) to buy such a clutch, if possible at all. That's why everybody (including me  ) wanted so hard to buy it from you.
