Hey guys,

i just want to make sure.....

I going to put in some Semi-Synthetic into the 450 until the amsoil arrives

question is ...okay to use Semi-Synthetic then to Synthetic?

I believe you can not go Synthetic then to Semi-Synthetic Correct?

You can switch oils every time you drain if you wish. It won't hurt anything as long as you re-fill with the correct viscosity.

Not true. Synthetic, petroleum, or semi/blended, it makes no difference. They can be freely interchanged, and even mixed (although it's not recommended that you mix two different oils as a usual practice).

The only engine lubricating oils you can't do this with are any of the true castor based oils, which are rare and expensive, and you would know if you were buying it.

When synthetics were first introduced, they had pronounced seal-swelling propensities. If you ran synthetic, the seals would swell. If you switched back to a non-synthetic, the seals would shrink again, but since they had become crushed by swelling in a confined space, they would now leak. That's where the myth of not being able to switch back came from. It's no longer the case.
