Timing On A 03 Exc250

I have a 03 exc250 thats been back firing back to the airbox. Keep hearing my timing is off, i have no clue what to look for when i take the cover off. Any suggestion will be helpful. Thanks

I believe there is a mark on the stator and case that must be lined up.
