picked up a brand new 450 today!!!

world different than the ol 426

i need to get a sparky for trail riding. i torn between a PMB end cap or just setup a complete exhaust system thinking about the dr d i would like to get something that adds to the low end. most of my riding is done in the low-mid area i know the 08s def need an exhaust but how bout the 07?

before i drop 500 bones on the dr d i want to make sure its a good investment i would hate having buyers remorse. Also does anyone know if the megabomb fit the stock can?

I think you'll get more from the DRD stainless with the sparky than from the 'Bomb/PMB combo. Check the price at the TT Store.

Another way to fatten up low end performance is to drop an '06 exhaust cam in it.

I think buying a whole new pipe for an 07 is a waste of money, buy an add on spark arrestor instead. I'm a vet intermidiate motocross rider and I can't handle all the power the bike has. Why add more?

If your going to trail ride and you want low end, change the rear sprocket to a 51 or 52 tooth. You'll get the low end you want and save about $400.

Ahh, the old "I can't handle the power my bike has so by default neither can you" statement. If no one out there can handle the power the bike has why are so many aftermarket speed companies still in business?

To the OP: you can change to a bigger rear sprocket but you sacrifice top end speed. If you don't need any top speed this would be a good solution. If you want better power overall without sacrificing top end then you need a pipe or a cam (or some other means of producing more power). I have a full DRD on my 07 and can say that it definitely made a difference. The bike is still smooth but has a better power throughout the rev range.

The answer to that my friend is easy. Aftermarket company's rely on consumers that want to get the little extra out of there bikes. At the end of the day, 99% won't notice the difference because we're not able to ride stock bikes to there full potential

I have to say that I am a top 10 B rider and I just purchased a barely used 2007 yz450 as well and I already added a 52tooth rear sprocket because I think that the bike does not have enough power and definately needs a pipe or somethin to make it come alive.Dont get me wrong the bike pulls but I think the 2004 yz450 I had would have smoked this one.The bike needs some more low end and you should be able to lug the bike around the track in 3rd gear and when needed be able to pull it wide open then feels your arms scretch out.My bike needs to have the clutch flashed like a 2 smoker to get it to come alive when needed.I do have to say that it does handle like it is on rails though.Anyone have a pipe that they want to sell? :excuseme:

I agree, more low end would be nice, at least in the woods. I might try an '06 exhaust cam like grayracer suggested. When this sprocket and chain start wearing out I'm going to try a different combo there as well. My '98 yz400f definitely had more low end than my '07 450f does, but the '07 really pulls hard in the higher RPM's.

i was told today by a guy that has a 07 also, when he went to a FMF pipe not only did i waken the bike up, he feels it also runs cooler?

has any found an aftermarket pipe can help the bike run cooler???

He probably changed his jetting for the fmf pipe and it is running a bit richer now than it was with the old pipe. Just my guess.

I would say that most of us can't ride our bikes to their full potential all the time. There are times when I ride my bike to its full potential and times when I ride it beyond its full potential (crashes suck).

I think most people ride the bike to its potential more than they give themselves credit for albeit they don't do it all the time. The difference between us mortals and the pros is that the pros ride the bike to its potential most of the time.

I for one am not a stellar rider but I am better than average. There are times I wish my bike did something better. It has nothing to do with riding the bike to its full potential all the time but the bike could be improved for my riding style in some area.
