My 04 WR450 did a strange thing last time out. I went to kick it over and it backfired and the bike was toes up after that, not even a hint at trying to fire off. So I took it apart and found that the cam chain had jumped 1 tooth on the bottom gear. The cams have the proper timing - 14 links apart - so my question is what would cause this? I`m thinking that the cam chain adjuster is nfg, or maybe a worn chain guide or something. The gear on the crank is a little worn but not too bad. Anyone ever have to deal with this?
