I searched for an active DDR forum, couldn't find anything. It would be nice to have a common place to post. This seems like an active message board. I just joined the DDR this past November. I wonder how many DDR members visit here. I've met quite a few, my name is Randy, I have the KLX250S, only one I've seen there so far. Here is a pic of me taking a break there.

It sucks with all the rain we've been getting, it takes forever for that place to dry out it seems. I'm looking forward to the Motocross race this Sunday next door at the Dayton Motorcycle Club. I cruised up there this past Sunday, and they did some major changes to the track, it looks crazy! There is another double, it is on the left hand of the course, looks kind of like a tabletop double. I watched someone get huge air on that one. It also looks like people were practicing the course in the opposite direction. I plan on just spectating, but it seems like a can't miss event in the area.

As far as the Dayton Dirt Riders go, I'm looking forward to the meeting in a couple of weeks. I sent in my renewal last week, still haven't got a reply or the new como yet. Hopefully I'll get it soon, or I'll have to sweat it out, lol.

So, any DDR or DMC riders here?

Hey Randy, we met at the club several weeks ago.  There were three of us riding that evening; two old farts(39) and one young buck(14) maybe you remember.  We all ride KTM's.  The youngin got hung up on a log near the entrance I think you got to witness the exit stradegy on that one.  How's the KLX treating you?  Once your more comfortable on it you should look into the DualSports.  Anyhow glad your enjoying the club.  Its nice cause its close and there is a little of everything.

Hey, I remember that evening. You have a 250 XCW, don't you? You've got to love the KTMs. I am thinking about a second bike, between 1000-2300$. Probably a KDX200 or 220, maybe a KTM 200EXC. I noticed a used KTM 200EXC on craigslist, a 2003 for 2200$. Ooh baby, sounds temptng. I've been riding with friends who have a KDX220 and a KDX200, got to try both of those on the DDR trails, and I found them both easier to ride on the tougher trails than my KLX.

Speaking of the KLX, I still love the bike, but it's a work in progress. It looks different from when you last saw it. Here is a pic from today at the DDR parking lot. I went there today during the intermission of the MX races at the DMC. Nobody else was at DDR when I was there.

I took a lot of pics at the DMC MX races today, and a few little videos too. I'll probably post them somewhere eventually. The weather was great, mid 60s at least, not too windy, and dry. A welcome change, yesterday was dry also. I even got a little sunburn today. Last weekend, the trails were nice and dry at DDR, but of course there were more mud puddles still lingering around today with all that rain we got this past week. But you know the DDR trails, lots of parts dry out quickly, but some puddles last a long time.

I've seen those guys with the KDX's up at the club.  Those are solid bikes.  Did you like the 2stroke power?  A buddy just sold a 2001 KTM 200 for $1200.
It was super clean. What other bikes are you considering?  I will be selling my XR250 soon.  Were there a lot of people at the races?  I hope to be at the club on Wed. evening.

I love 2 stroke power. My last bike was a KX125 (back in the 90s), so I have some experience riding a 2 stroke, and I miss it (2 stroke power, not the KX). The KDXs were much easier to ride at low speed than my KX125 was, yet they still have that hit that a smoker will give you. I think a lightweight 2stroke enduro bike that is under 10 years old is what I'm looking for. I was think about a used 125cc MXer just to goof around on and to ride at the DMC MX track just for kicks. My KLX250S doesn't seem to like the jumps there, I already blew a fork seal. But after riding the KDXs, I fell in love with them.

I also thought about a 250F, either MX or enduro like a WR250F or CRF250X, but I've read that ones in my price range could be more prone to expensive valve problems.

There were a lot of people at the DMC MX races, the parking areas were jam packed. It was a good family atmosphere, nobody getting drunk or anything. I'm looking forward to the next one on May 31st.

Hey man that KLX is cool lookin!!  If you like two strokes and think the KDX's are fun you really owe it to yourself to try out a 200 KTM.  Thought I would just add my two cents.

Hilljack is right you owe it to yourself to try a KTM200.  They are very light and make good power for their size.  I was impressed when I tried one.  It may not be for you, but at least this way you know for sure.  Nothing against the KDX......its pretty much bulletproof form what I understand.

A good friend of mine that I grew up with, his parents are heavily involved with DMC.  They are great people and sacrifice a ton of time to help make things go smoothly.

Thanks, it's getting close to where I want it to be. Maybe some black wheels could be the finishing touch. Old school gold wheels could be pimpin. Yep, a KTM 200 isa higher performer for sure.

I wonder if that KTM in Greenville is still avaieable, I'm off tomorrow. I might show up Wednesday after work at the DDR if the weather holds up.

It's possible. They're calling for some rain, how much and when, who knows? I usually get home from work around 5:00-5:15 pm, let the dog out, change clothes, etc. I ride my bike to DDR, so I don't want to ride on the streets going there if it's raining too much. T-storms will rule it out for me. I hope the weather holds out, I'm up for some good riding.

After some adjustments were made to my bike, it is less prone to stalling out at low rpms, making it easier to ride on the tough DDR downhills. I found that out today, went there for a bit of riding. Only one other person showed up while I was there, Steve. He rides an '06 or '05 RM125. He's fairly new to the DDR, and an ex-MXer. Seems like a good guy. As per usual for the DDR.:excuseme:

The trails were nice today, and so was the weather. I'm suprised There weren't a lot more people there.

Its hit or miss on any other day but Wed.  There are some "regulars" that are almost always there on Wed.  Patrick with the Lead Sled Customs box van, Nick Fahringer factory Husaberg Pro(wicked fast):excuseme:    , his dad Karl, and several others.  My youngest boy wants to go fishing so I will probably miss tonite.  Hope the weather holds out.

Cool, I might be there Saturday early evening after work depending on the weather, and likely on Sunday.
