New 2008 yz450f

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to buy a new 2008 yz450f from a dealer. Anyone purchase one within the last month. If so what price did you get it for out the door? Let me know so I can know what to push for. Thanks

Just got back from the dealer empty handed. They wanted to charge me 6900 out the door for the blue 08 yz450f. Anyone know any dealers in Southern California or Las Vegas that have better prices than that?

Call Abernathys in Union City TN. They will ship you the bike in a crate! I swear by this, I was going to do it. They will charge you a little for shipping it, but you won't find a better deal where you live, or in Cali for sure. Call a salesman and tell em the situation. You will have to mail them the payment though, you cannot send large transfers like that over the phone. Good luck and its worth looking into! Tenn does not charge sales tax, they might not charge you in Utah, im not sure.

Just cut and pasted from their site.

"L.A. Yamaha

(310) 306-7906

Price: $5,499

OTD Cyclesports Auburn

(530) 885-7105

Price: $5,399

OTD Cyclesports Burlingame

(650) 697-9750

Price: $5,399

All prices are "Out the Door", which includes all taxes, license, and government fees. We DO NOT charge freight and setup fees."

Don't be too sure. Once the bike arrives here, it REQUIRES a title, even if you convince the DMV that you are never going to ride it on any public property and won't need the red sticker. The sales tax you avoided by making the out-of-state purchase will be replaced by a "Use Tax", coincidentally charged at the same rate as the sales tax, and there is no way around it. When looking at out-of-state prices, add 7.75% to it, then the freight.

Where in Utah are you from? Call Kevin or Aaron at Delta Sports, they usually have some pretty good prices; 435-864-3432.

St George. I understand the sales tax. I will have to pay it one way or another when I go to register the bike.

I'm in St. George as well. The local guys are a complete rip off. Like I said, call Delta Sports; they're the best price i've found within a reasonable distance. Maybe they give me a good deal since I grew up there, its a small town, and I've bought more than a few things from them. Anyway, its worth a call.

Thanks for the info Nate. I will give those guys a call tomorrow. Where do you normally ride at?

Grey If I remember correctly, the reason they don't charge title fee is they expect you to deal with it. Sales tax, applies in certain states, have to check with them. Tenn does not charge if you are in that state and pick up and pay.

I bought my bike used, not from a dealer, it was yard ridden for 1-2 hours. I paid no sales tax because I bought it from a private party and got a good ol' boy deal on it in KY.

Yes freight is up to you, if the DMV is not that expensive to title and sticker a DB. But cali is all messed up so I don't put it past them to bend ya over! I think overall with everything it would wind up being around $5300 or a little more. Still not bad for a new bike.

I 2nd calling Delta Sports. They are straight shooters and will back up the sale with great honest service. I have bought at least 10 bikes from them over the years.
