alright i finally understand what the heck all this high tech talk is about. until now i was lost on what you guys were talking about, but now i understand and i think im going to go and make a james now and an av now to see which one is better. also everyone was talking on how if you use plastic that if you get a backfire it will fry the plastic over time. what i was thinking(slap me if im an idiot) is to take the same type of material on the airfilter cage and put it on your carb to prevent backfires. the only problem is it will decrease airflow and i think it probly won't fit. what do you guys think?
again im sorry if this was a stupid idea, but im not as smart on this stuff as alot of you guys and im just trying to learn as much as i can. thanks for all the help guys and try not to be to harsh. :)

Well I think your idea is not a bad idea but the screen is way to fine to put it just behind the carb. I don't really know where your going to put it maybe between the back intake and the rubber mount that the powernow sits in? The area is way to small to put the screen in there. Your going to decrease pressure volume/air flow way to much. Where the screen sits infront of the air filter that's a big area but behind the carb it's alot smaller. Also I wouldn't use a plastic plate, use a metal one less than 1 mm thick. It will do the job fine, and it wont melt on you.
