Assuming we all keep our battery in the original location, it is quite apparent that long term air box changes are required (snorkle removal will not suffice). My current plan is to install the 1" dia. foam inserts on the left side of the air box (duct taped over for the river crossing events). Ironically I run a factory that builds rotationaly molded air cleaner housings. Does anyone else have any ideas on the subject?

first off, i've not even seen a 03wr. so with that in mind:
what about replacing the stock battery with a "better" one?
ie. there has got to be a way of using c-cell or d-cell (lithium ion?) batteries that would carry enough juice for 2 - 3 starts (then requires 15-30 minute trail ride to recharge them).
that would then give you more space in the airbox and more breathing.
the battery is the problem. fix that.
how does ktm do it on theirs?
