Ok! I feel a little stupid asking this question but I dont want to waste my time ripping it apart. I cant seem to find the pilot screw on my 99 WR400 carburator. My 05 YZ was easy but I dont know I cant seem to find it while its installed on the bike. Can someone tell me were it is and which way to adjust it. My bike back fires when I let off the gas so I believe its running lean. Don't beat on me to bad!

Open the float bowl. Turn carb upside down. put hot start and choke on your left. Center is the main. Pilot is below it. Start jet is at 2 o'clock from the main.

He's asking where the pilot screw is, not the jet. I have a YZ400F. I think it's the same as the WR. There's a bolt to access the jets on the bottom of the bowl. Just in front of that is a small hole with the screw deep inside.

Another thing to check that will cause that pop on decel is leaky exhaust joints at the cylinder or at the silencer header joint.
