Replacing the head gasket is no big deal. I would probably replace the piston & rings if your going to take the head off. Don't forget to replace the cam chain too..... and if your really wanting to freshen it up, replace the valve springs. Take care of your YZF and it will take care of you.

Why are you changing it? If you blew a head gasket there could be some other issues.

You will need at least a head gasket, base gasket, rings, and the O-Ring for the water tube where it goes in the front of the head and the O-Ring for the sleve between the cylinder and case. Make sure you surface both the mating surfaces (had and cylinder), or you are just asking for it to leak again. If the bike has low hours on it, you may not need to replace the piston, pin and circlips...if it's got high hours on it or measures out of spec, you will. As 642MX says, it's a good idea to change the timing chain and valve springs as well...cheap insurance against very catastrophic failures!
