This may be a ridiculous question, however I cannot get a confirmed answer from anyone. I have a late 9th month 98 WR400 and wish to know whether I refer to it as 99 or 98.
The obvious appears 98 but some disagree....they say it is a 99 model and will differ to the 98 with any 99 model mods.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The bike should be clearly marked on the frame and the literature.

If that's not the case, have someone run the VIN number for you.

There wasn't huge difference between the years, at least on the basi stuff. (Seats, pipe, and the like.)

I don't know if I've added anything, but, hey, I tried.
