426 Carb question

I have been looking for a rebuild kit for my '02 426 and while looking at the Sudco diagram for the FCR MX39, I noticed part #22, a gasket between the throttle valve and throttle valve plate. Having bought a used bike, and having the carb off half-a-dozen times cleaning out crap, I know my carb is missing this. What are the ramifications of running without this gasket? I am chasing a hanging idle problem and was wondering if this could be the cause, or at least making the issue worse. Any input appreciated.
