Hey guys,

I am faily newb when it comes to bike engines and such so I need your help. I cam across this ad today and was wondering what it is that needs replacing, how hard it is to replace and how much it is going to cost. Knowing that, do you think this bike is worth the price.

Thanks guys,

To replace the crank, you need pull the engine out of the bike, tear it down, and split the cases. I've never done it, but it looks time consuming and pretty technical. It is however something I would do with a manual infront of me and the correct tools at my disposal.

If thats something you're up to, I would offer $1000 dollars for that bike. The crankshaft assembly itself is $419.02 from the TT store and it wouldn't hurt to do the piston ($124.51), rings ($24.71), wristpin ($10.95), and circlip ($0.20), and a cam chain ($14.93)

With that said, there may be other things wrong like bearings or jacked up cylinder head/valves.
