Seeing that bike makes me all warm and fuzzy I knew there was some stipulation just couldn't quite remember. Thanks for clearing that up. So he can only run it if it is going to be production in 2010? I would sure like to see a test bike from the Factory guys over in Japan.

That's where it gets greasy. The bike in that picture was near put in production, and the '98 YZ400 shared almost nothing in common with it other than the model designation. So frankly, I'm not sure the prototype ever even had to be built, but you can only run it for one year, regardless.

Otherwise known as the "production rule" in the AMA. Already ahead of ya.

BTW - Henry's supermoto Yamaha was cranking out over 65 hp, and probably closer to 70 according to Supermoto Racer Magazine who did a test on the Graves Yamaha team bikes

Was that his '04 ride that I was talking about, or was it his more recent one?

The bike in the picture is a single cylinder, and I already said it was never produced.

Alright, but why are there two exhaust pipes coming out of the motor then?

Two exhaust ports for one cylinder, there are a few bikes that do this.

Read somewhere that the carb Yamis were down on power as a result of the new AMA 94db sound requirement - other mfgs adjusted their EFI to compensate but the Yami teams were getting creative with other mods...

Your YZ has two ports, too. It's just a matter of whether they merge into one inside or outside the engine. XR650's, Yamaha Raptors, and older KTM's are "dual header" bikes.

That would be a myth.

Carbs can be adjusted to deal with mufflers as well as EFI can.

Actually now that I think about it - it was the the 07 bike - so it had to be Burhkart's 450.
