The only thing that is wrong with this bike is it starts fine by kickstarting but it doesnt start well with the electric if all. im thinking it needs the valves adjusted, what do you think? If it is the valves do you know of a site that would show how to adjust them? Im use to those smoky tale pipes and putting oil in my gas so i don't know much about thumpers yet.

Whats it do when you press the starter button? If it does nothing or just clicks its probably the battery.

It will crank over just fine. but the battery will go dead before it will start. For some reason it just likes the jolt of the foot. And for some reason it didn't want to idle very good last time we went riding so i don't know if that has something to do with it to or not. I'm just trying to get as much info on this bike as far as difects or weaknesses as i can, so i know what i might be getting myself into if i buy it.

If you get a feeler gauge you could probably check valve clearances yourself. Its possible you may need a new battery too. I let mine (crf250x) die once, and no matter how much I charged the battery, the electric start would crank over once maybe, but then it would just click. I got a new battery and now it starts like a champ and I always keep a battery tender on it. It could also be a jetting problem, but when it comes to jetting I'm pretty much retarded so hopefully someone else will chime in if thats the case.

Good luck?

My 04 WR450 did exactly the same thing. If she won't start first couple of cranks, don't keep trying the red button, just kick start it, you will just kill your battery. Make sure you check the air filter, these things love plenty of air, that could be your idle problem. and definatly hook hook her up to a tender/trickle charger, once you sort out these little problems, you won't go back, these bikes go hard.. cheers
